The aim of I-recycle is to provide a central point for people offering items free of charge that they no longer require or need. The passing on of these items reduces the amount of usable goods going to landfill sites across the UK.
This site also offers subscribers the opportunity to request unwanted items.
I-recycle is currently based in the UK. However the spread of I-recycle to other countries is both welcome and foreseeable.
Currently the site offers…
- A nationwide site for people working and living in different parts of the country
- Post an Offered/Wanted advert with item description and location. Optional photo can also be uploaded at the same time.
- Browse all adverts on the I-recycle site.
- Search adverts located within a specified distance.
- Receive all the adverts through RSS.
- Browse all adverts through www.blogger.com and www.twitter.com.
- Link to a map showing the item's location.
- Registered users can see the distance between their address and where the item is located through the I-recycle site or through RSS.
- Reply to an advert via the I-recycle site removing the need to use email.
- RSS starter guide available on the I-recycle site.
- Search adverts located within a specified distance.
What we hope to offer soon…
- Categorisation of all adverts.
- Search adverts by category and define your own preferences.
- Receive selected adverts through RSS depending on personal settings (areas around selected postcode).
