I just received and interesting email from Jane:

A friend told me about it - fabulous idea. I registrerd but was
disappointed at how few "things" were available in my area.

How are you going to get as well known as ebay?

I will pass you on to those in my address book, perhaps all your subscribers
can do that for starters - it's very easy.

Have you had press coverage yet?

Well Jane, we loved the idea to be as big as ebay. We did not have press coverage yet but hoping to be noticed soon.

We have been referenced in the Martin Money Tips forum.

Hopefully, all subscribers will be able to do like Jane and pass on our web address to those in their address books.

It has been brought to our attention that someone has requested payment for items offered on I-recycle.

Please be aware that it is not allowed and every item offered should be free.

Other sites exist for those members who require payment for items such as ebay.

Members who continue to offer items and then request payment will have their membership withdrawn as we do not tolerate this and the offered and wanted messages posted by this member have been removed

Hi,

To make sure that you are only receiving emails related to items local to you, please make sure to update the 'My account' page with your postcode and the preferred distance.

You can also choose to not receive any email and use the site or the RSS feed to be notified about new items.

The search function has been enhanced in the following way:
- Clear explanation of the content of the field 'Location'
- Introduction of a distance field, enabling to restrict the search around the chosen location.

The site is nationwide, however with this enhanced search function, you can choose to restrict the list and display only local items.

Since the inception of I-recycle, RSS feed has been the main communication medium for subscribers to be notified of new Offered and Wanted items.

Sadly, only 1% of subscribers are using RSS.
